Zach Pietrini blends heartland rock with an everyman’s Americana spirit, crafting honest, wistful storytelling wrapped in a well-worn denim jacket of sound. Inspired by Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Ryan Adams, he revitalizes American roots music with a modern touch.
Originally from Chicago and now based in Milwaukee, Pietrini has become a fixture at festivals like Summerfest, Mile of Music, and SXSW, even opening for Huey Lewis and the News. His dynamic live performances are intimate yet high-energy, defined by his “beguiling friendliness” (88Nine), “nearly confounding” versatility (Shepherd Express), and a laid-back stage presence that brings a distinctly Wisconsin sense of Gemütlichkeit.
Voted Milwaukee Magazine’s Best Live Act and a regular contender for Best Band in Milwaukee by 88Nine, Pietrini and his band are set to release their 10th album, Live at Wire & Vice (2025).

Poet | Cyclist | Storyteller
Born on September 26, 1994, in Milwaukee—his beloved "Paris of the Midwest"—Kavon Cortez Jones is a homegrown poet, avid cyclist, and passionate storyteller. His love for poetry sparked in 7th grade at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. K-8 School, inspired by local mentors Kwabena Nixon and Muhibb Dyer. Their powerful performances and the influence of artists like Lupe Fiasco fueled his dedication to the written word.
Kavon honed his craft at Riverside University High School, where he joined the poetry club HyPOETically Thinking. Since then, he has performed across Milwaukee in coffee shops, art galleries, colleges, and community spaces, even earning a spot in the 2014 Brave New Voices youth poetry competition in Philadelphia.
Now 30, Kavon continues to share his poetry and passion for storytelling, often seen biking through the city with Red Bike & Green’s Ammar Nsoroma, writing in homegrown cafés, and engaging with Milwaukee’s creative community. His work embodies peace, love, and the vibrant energy of the city he calls home.
