Devil Met Contention combines country, folk and blues into a distinctive sound that brings to mind Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Johnny Cash. Hailed as "a haunting slab of dusty Americana" by the Milwaukee Record, Devil Met Contention is perfect if you feel like dancing, socializing or drowning your sorrows with a bottle of whiskey. 

 

Formed as a solo project in 2012, the four piece, suit clad group constantly pushes to expand their sound, create new material, and perform concerts to new audiences.  The band is currently preparing for their Fall tour while they continue to carve a distinctive niche in the Wisconsin music scene. 

 

Their 2016 full length album, Fuel The Lights has been on top 20 lists alongside acts like Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Drive by Truckers, and Blackberry Smoke.

Most recently, Devil Met Contention's song 'Fire" won the 2017 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Award for song of the year.
